'Missing Bride' Summary
In the midst of the War of 1812, an American heiress named Edith Granger falls in love with a British officer named Captain Arthur St. Clair. Despite the war raging around them, they marry and begin a life together. However, their happiness is short-lived. Captain St. Clair is killed in battle, and Edith is left alone and heartbroken. Years later, Edith meets a man named John Esten Cooke. She is reluctant to love again, but she cannot resist his charm. They marry, and Edith finds new happiness. The rest of the book focuses on Edith's and John's adventures together. They travel the world, raise a family, and experience all the joys and sorrows that life has to offer.Book Details
