The Art of Cookery, Made Plain and Easy is a cookbook written by Hannah Glasse and first published in 1747. The book is a compilation of recipes typical for British meals produced in the kitchens of the more affluent classes in the 1700s. Glasse's intent was to instruct the lower sort in their own way, by writing in a practical, no-nonsense manner that instills confidence in anyone who follows her recipes and advice.
